SENEGAL – Cell Group Evangelization

The Dakar Central Church is using Cell Groups as one the means through which many Senegalese are being evangelized. One Pastor has been successful in establishing four cell groups comprised of Catholic, Muslims & Animist backgrounds. We praise God for answered employment needs as well as spiritual needs. The leader of one cell group who has been jobless for several years has found a job. Another member of the another cell group has also found a job. These testimonies are bringing more people to these cell groups. They see HOPE for a better future. Please pray that as they come they should know and understand that it is only through Jesus that they can have better lives.

All names and towns are changed or abbreviated because of security concerns in this region.

Busy Month as Youth Evangelize Community

The Youth department has been very active over the pass month, holding revivals, series of youth meetings and engaged in physical work in and around the church. Therefore they decided not to just impart the church but to strategically reach out to evangelize the community.

To fully and effectively achieve their goal, the youth of the church organized a one day “Clean up Campaign” to clean the community and major street of Parcelles (map).

They spend 6 hours removing garbage, dirt and sand that had oven taken the street as a result of heavy rains. It was wonderful and exciting. This was the first time the community had ever experienced young people coming on the streets to work without asking or begging for funds from the residence, by passer, motorist or commuters. It was exciting and wonder. While the youth were concentrating on traffic control and getting the streets clean, the children were sharing tracks and witnessing to who ever came their way for the Lord.

It was amazing to see the young as well as the old Muslim receiving tracks from the children in public, something which would have been difficult or impossible for an average person to do in the public. The children distributed over 450 tracks and as a matter of fact they ran out of tracks. The move by the youth has been welcome and highly appreciated by the community.

Nobody made commitment to Christ or rededicated their lives to Christ, but both Christian and Muslim, especially the Muslim are still talking about the orderly, disciplined and kind attitude of the youth.

Our prayers is that the Holy Spirit will work in the community and in the lives of all those who received tracks from the children. We pray that God will help us to lead his people by his wisdom and enable us to minister to them according to his grace.

Advancement of the Gospel

After thousands of years of using different methods and strategies, coupled with the advancement in communication and science one would be tempted to think that the gospel has been heard by all of the earth.

If you are one of those who think that way I want to inform you that there are tens of thousands that have never heard the Gospel as a message of hope for their lives.

Many times as we carry out this duty we are faced with great obstacles put in our way by Satan. Sometimes the problems are so urgent that we have to withdraw for a period of time; yet we re-strategize and return with more zeal. Regardless of the difficulties we face, we have committed ourselves to press on.

As the head of the team, which is responsible for implementing the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in this part of the world; I deem it necessary to call upon every Bible believing Christian to help make sure that we achieve the goal we set before us. The goal is for the good news of Jesus Christ not only to be heard, but also to transform the lives of those we meet.

To implement our vision fully, we are trying to raise support to help us to put into effect more programs that will meet the challenges we face and to strengthen and update the already existing ones. You do not have to be a wealthy person in order to contribute to this program; you can put in pennies, dollars, materials, or even your time as a volunteer. At this stage, nothing is too old or little for us to make use of. It is our prayer that you will respond as the Lord leads you.

Evangelism Bamako

Pastor Sagara reports that his evangelistic team has yield a harvest of thirty converts. Mostly from the Fulani tribe of hard core Muslims. The team also held a meeting with the villagers and it was very very successful. It was agreed that another meeting will be held at the end of May in order to evaluate the growing relationship between the church and the villagers. He is praying that the school accepts that Bible be taught as a course by the church. Evangelism is also growing through his door-to-door evangelistic team. One of the major problems he faced is that he needs a motorbike to make follow-ups on the church’s ever growing new believers.

Dakar Flooded

Dakar, Senegal Our effective and strategic door-to-door evangelism has been temporarily suspended due heavy rains in Senegal over the past three weeks. It rains almost 24 hours every other day and water is everywhere. Senegal has not had or experienced such rainfall in years and it has been difficult and frustrating time for those without decent housing.

Whenever it rains some people and communities spend tireless days and sleepless nights in the cold pouring out gallons of water from their homes. Homes and personal effects have been destroyed with major roads leading within the city are damaged or cutoff. The West African Headquarters of D.O.N.E. Inc. was no exception to the damaged caused as a result of continued rainfall. The church, offices and some apartments were flooded by the rainstorm. However we count it all joy and thanked the Lord for His blessings and protection over our lives and the ministry. We praise the Lord for this ministry and for who He is. Although some of our members have been made homeless by the flooding we as a church and ministry sustained no major damage to properties compared to our neighbors.
